The cordless AdvancedTrimRouter 18V-8 from Bosch can now be turned into a cordless plunge router with ease thanks to a clever attachment. With the new router plunge base, DIYers can mill slots and pockets with even greater precision. The tool, which is part of the ‘18 V Power for All System’ from Bosch, can therefore be used in an even greater variety of applications. The new router plunge base is available as a separate attachment for the AdvancedTrimRouter 18V-8 cordless trim router or as a 2-in-1 set comprising the AdvancedTrimRouter 18V-8, trim router base, and router plunge base as well as other helpful accessories.

Effortless precision milling

With the router plunge base, Bosch allows AdvancedTrimRouter 18V-8 users to plunge directly into the workpiece and mill slots and pockets with unrivalled accuracy. All conventional milling depths can be set quickly and easily by selecting one of the seven pre-set depths using the depth turret stop. No longer do DIYers have to waste time laboriously calculating depths of cut, as is the case on competitor models. Instead, they achieve the desired result in just a few steps. The additional variable depth fine adjustment makes for even more accurate milling results.

One tool, two attachments, countless applications

DIYers can easily switch between different jobs by detaching the trim router base on the AdvancedTrimRouter 18V-8 and fitting the router plunge base, turning the trim router into a fully functioning plunge router that is compatible with Bosch’s guide rail system. Milling straight slots – like a juice groove on a home-made cutting board, for instance – is an effortless process thanks to the parallel guide, which also comes with the attachment. Thanks to the ergonomic shape of the handles, the router sits comfortably in the hand and is simple to control. As with the trim router base, a vacuum cleaner can also be attached to the router plunge base, making creative tasks such as milling letters into a plank of wood or building furniture child’s play, while keeping mess to a minimum too.

The router plunge base and the 2-in-1 router set are available now. Many different accessories, such as various router bit sets featuring groove, engraving, and round over bits, are also available in the Bosch accessories range. All stated prices are recommended retail prices including VAT.
