Karlsruhe – In vehicles with combustion engines, and especially in hybrid and electric vehicles, automakers are increasingly installing electric coolant pumps for the reliable and efficient support they offer the various coolant circuits. In the original equipment market, Bosch is already a leading supplier of electric coolant pumps. And as more and more vehicles are equipped with such pumps, they are also becoming increasingly important in the aftermarket. This is why Bosch has been continuously extending its aftermarket range since 2019. Over the past three years, 39 coolant pumps have been added to the range. Ten further article numbers are planned for 2022. The electric pump portfolio for workshop customers now comprises 50 article numbers, including 14 variants for hybrid and electric vehicles. This means that the portfolio covers 60 percent of the passenger cars and vans in Europe equipped with an electric coolant pump. For 25 percent of the hybrid and electric vehicles in the European market, Bosch electric coolant pumps are now also available for workshops.

The right amount of coolant at the right time: electric coolant pumps for coolant flow on demand

Effective thermal management is important for hybrid and electric vehicles’ range and battery service life. Thermal management ensures that the vehicle battery does not overheat, especially during rapid recharging. To ensure that the right amount of coolant is available at the right time, many automakers have opted for Bosch electric coolant pumps. Among other things, these are particularly well suited due to their low noise level. Bosch's experience in the development and production of components for thermal management is also finding its way into the manufacture of spare parts. Bosch manufactures its pumps for the aftermarket to the same quality standards as for original equipment. Their strong resistance to temperature and vibration gives them a service life of up to 30,000 hours. In addition, the pumps’ robust and compact design ensures low failure rates.
