The most powerful cordless rotary hammers which Bosch has ever had are the Biturbo GBH 18V-36 C Professional and GBH 18V-45 C Professional hammers. The SDS max hammers are optimized for maximum performance with ProCore18V batteries: Their specially developed, brushless high-performance motor has been perfectly coordinated with the electronics and battery, so that the high efficiency of the recommended ProCore18V batteries with 8.0 and 12.0 Ah can be used to their full potential. Both hammers are also the lightest in their class: The GBH 18V-36 C Professional is 500 grams lighter and 20 percent more compact than any other cordless rotary hammer in the SDS max segment. At 12.5 joules, the GBH 18V-45 C Professional offers the same impact energy as the 1,500-watt corded GBH 8-45 DV Professional, but it is still lighter even when combined with the ProCore18V 12.0 Ah battery. This makes the Biturbo hammers unique on the market and represents a breakthrough into a new performance dimension.

High drilling performance confirmed by an independent test institute

The cordless hammers differ in terms of their optimum drilling range: With an impact energy of 7.0 joules, the GBH 18V-36 C Professional is designed especially for drilling holes from 14 to 36 millimeters. With 12.5 joules impact energy, the GBH 18V-45 C Professional is particularly suitable for drilling holes from 20 to 40 millimeters. Its drilling performance was confirmed by an independent test institute: With just one battery charge, it covers an average drilling distance of 4.27 meters with a drill bit diameter of 25 millimeters. No other cordless hammer in its class can match this performance.

Value-added thanks to connectivity and high user protection

In addition, the Biturbo hammers offer craftspeople value-added thanks to the new User Interface ‒ an interactive display on the tool ‒ and connectivity functions via smartphone: Professionals can always keep an eye on the tool and battery status and can adapt the tools to their individual needs. Three different work modes are available: “Auto” for maximum performance, e.g. when breaking through concrete, “Soft” for work with sensitive materials such as tiles or masonry, and the “Favorite” mode in which the drilling performance can be set via app. Additional functions can be configured such as a Soft Start function: Both when drilling (“Electronic Precision Control”, EPC for short) and now also for the first time when chiseling (“Adaptive Speed Control”, ASC for short), the hammers ramp up slowly to the set speed. Craftspeople can therefore set the drill and chisel with pinpoint accuracy, and work precisely. Both Biturbo hammers also offer high user protection thanks to Vibration Control and KickBack Control: In the event of sudden and unpredictable rotation of the rotary hammer around the drilling axis ‒ which can occur if the drill becomes blocked in reinforced concrete ‒ the integrated sensor shuts off the motor in a fraction of a second. This prevents unexpected kickback and can therefore reduce the risk of injury. The switch lock for continuous applications in chisel mode also serves as a transport lock.

Full compatibility in the Bosch Professional 18V System

The Biturbo hammers are operated most efficiently with the high-performance ProCore18V batteries with 8.0 Ah and 12.0 Ah. With the Professional 18 Volt System, Bosch ensures compatibility with new and existing power tools and chargers in this voltage class, offering craftsmen planning and cost certainty.

Bosch offers a wide range of Biturbo tools: different rotary hammers, angle grinders and saws. They are more powerful than all previous cordless tools from Bosch. The Biturbo GBH 18V-36 C Professional and GBH 18V-45 C Professional hammers are available right now. The prices are recommended retail prices excluding VAT.
