“S stands for smart” ‒ autonomous lawn care is now more convenient than ever: The new connected Indego S+ from Bosch opens up all new possibilities to users. The Indego S+ can now be voice controlled via Amazon Alexa – making Bosch one of the first brands to offer a robotic lawnmower with this function on the market. “SmartMowing” has also been integrated. By activating this function, the Indego S+ analyzes data such as temperature and rainfall and automatically calculates the best time for the next cut. Autonomous lawn care is made even more efficient and flexible with the “MultiArea” and “SpotMow” functions. With “MultiArea” you can now mow multiple garden areas, while “SpotMow” allows you to target small, specific areas for mowing. The Indego S+ also has an enhanced battery management system with an increased runtime of 50 percent per battery charge. This makes the Indego even faster.

Well-kept lawn with Amazon Alexa voice control and “SmartMowing”

“Alexa, mow the lawn with Indego!” – The Indego S+ is one of the first robotic lawnmowers on the market that can be enabled for voice control. Users can easily start, stop or send Indego S+ to the docking station using cloud-based Amazon Alexa. Users can also ask for information regarding the device’s status. For example, by using voice control you can find out when the Indego S+ last mowed the lawn or when the next mow is planned. To do this, the robotic lawnmower is simply linked to Amazon Alexa – and voice-controlled mowing can begin. With the Indego S+, Bosch is expanding its range of smart devices, which includes digital household devices such as the Roxxter robot vacuum cleaner and “Home Connect” household devices such as fully automatic coffee machines and ovens with Amazon Alexa compatibility. Together with “SmartMowing”, voice control makes lawn care via app even more convenient.

Increased flexibility with “MultiArea” and “SpotMow”

More than half of all the gardens in Europe have multiple areas of lawn. In order to maintain the grass in separated garden areas as well with a single tool, the “MultiArea” function is now available. This allows the Indego S+ to mow separate gardens, e.g. at the front and back of the house, with the help of a second base station. The Indego S+ only needs to be moved to the other garden and it will mow the lawn in both gardens in systematic lanes using the proven “LogiCut” navigation system. “SpotMow” mode also ensures increased flexibility. This mode allows the Indego S+ to take care of specific areas with a size of 2 x 2 or 3 x 3 meters, which are otherwise covered by garden furniture or play equipment such as trampolines. To do this, you simply place the Indego S+ at the bottom left-hand corner of the area you wish to mow, select “SpotMow” with the required size, and Indego S+ starts.

Small and quiet Indego S+ robotic lawnmower

The Indego S+ mows up to 400 square meters, which covers around 75 percent of all private gardens. It works entirely independently within a defined area that is marked out by a perimeter wire. Indego S+ knows how big the area to be mowed really is by following the perimeter wire around the edge of the lawn area before the first cut, using sensors and software to measure the garden. The “LogiCut” navigation system allows it to mow in systematic lanes, making it significantly faster than comparable competitor models. It can also be conveniently controlled from anywhere using the “Bosch Smart Gardening” app. The app’s new design makes it even simpler to use.

The Indego S+ features a new design in Bosch Pale Green and Black with a high-quality surface. It will be available from February 2019. The update with the “MultiArea” and “SpotMow” functions will then also be available to download free of charge to current Indego models. The Connect models will receive the update automatically on request. The “Bosch Smart Gardening” app is also under continuously development: Amazon Alexa voice control is available now, while “SmartMowing” will be available from February 2019. In addition, users can personalize their Indego, plus the Indego Garage, at www.designmymower.com – make it unique by uploading your own image (see PI 10753 ).
