Stuttgart/Reutlingen – Riding technique, navigation, fitness and intelligent battery management: the Bosch eMTB Challenge will once again challenge its field of participants in various categories in 2025 and promises varied trails against impressive scenic backdrops. The popular event series also serves as a central meeting point for the eMTB community. A number of exciting new highlights have been added to the programme for the upcoming season.

Four venues in 2025 – registration now open!

The most important news for fans of the popular event series is that there will be four venues this season, including the well-known stops in Riva (2 May), Willingen (24 May) and Verbier (17 August). The event in Girona (20 September) is a new addition to the calendar, and talks are currently underway for yet another venue. Registration for individual venues of the Bosch eMTB Challenge is now open on the Bosch eBike Systems website. Further dates will be added as soon as registration is possible on the respective organiser's website. As is the case every year, places are limited.

In the established categories Amateur and Advanced, as in previous years, the main focus is on enjoying the opportunity to compare skills with others within the community. Participants can expect to cover around 35 kilometers and 1,000 metres of elevation per event – a challenge that requires not only riding technique but also a sense of direction, fitness and intelligent battery management. The stages, which offer a mix of uphill and downhill sections, are ridden against the clock without any prior training runs. In the transfer stages, on the other hand, the focus is on navigation.
Once again this year, riders can navigate using a GPX file that can be imported onto a smartphone, compatible eBike displays or a bike computer.

New category for professional athletes: Pro stages, prize money and points system

Alongside the established Amateur and Advanced Categories, there will be a Pro Category for the first time in 2025, which is specially tailored to professional eMTB Racing athletes as well as very ambitious riders. With this class, Bosch wants to promote competitive sport and offer ambitious riders an attractive platform as part of the eMTB Challenge. While amateur starters complete five stages and advanced starters six, participants in the Pro Series have to face a total of seven stages, two of which in particular are designed to test the limits of what's technically possible. As in the other categories, the times of all the stages are added together and the fastest riders are declared the winners.
Prize money of €500, €250 and €125 will be awarded for the first three places in the Pro Category. There is also a new overall ranking, where the top ten riders in each race collect points and each race counts towards the overall ranking. Prize money of €3,000 is on offer for overall victory in the Bosch eMTB Challenge Pro Series, with €2,000 for second place and €1,000 for third place.

Mondraker on board as a new partner

The addition of Spanish bicycle manufacturer Mondraker as a new partner will boost the event and further expand the importance of the Challenge as a central meeting point for the eMTB community. Joining Mondraker will be Schwalbe, who will once again support the Bosch eMTB Challenge 2025 as a long-term partner.
