Bosch is expanding its range of 18V tools for carpentry and interior finishing with four cordless nail guns and a cordless stapler for simple and precise fastening. The cordless nail guns vary in terms of the compatible nail types, with nail sizes of 1.2 to 1.8 mm (18ga to 15ga) available, as well as lengths of between 16 and 64 mm. The cordless stapler uses 1.2 mm (18ga) staples with a crown of 5.8 mm and a length of between 9.5 and 38 mm. All five cordless tools operate with a long-lasting brushless motor. Bosch recommends a ProCore18V battery with 4.0 Ah capacity for convenient and efficient working. The cordless system offers professionals greater flexibility than conventional pneumatic tools or gas-powered nail guns at comparable performance levels. Thanks to the specially designed triggering mechanism with a flywheel drive, these tools have significantly lower recoil than compressed-air nail guns. This protects users’ wrists and the tool itself from damage. The Professional 18V System covers all major 18V applications and even works with brands beyond Bosch, with additional partners in the multi-brand AmpShare battery alliance. All tools – from compact drill drivers to miter saws – can run on the same 18V lithium-ion battery and charger, thus saving tradespeople time, space, and money.

Full application range from robust fastenings to delicate upholstery work

The new range of tools offers professional tradespeople exactly what they need whatever the task at hand – whether it is maximum holding power or a minimum visible nail hole. The GNH 18V-64 MD Professional nail gun uses 1.8 mm (15ga) D-head nails with a length of 32 to 64 mm. It offers the highest fastening power in the range and is perfect for fixing window frames or door jambs. With a nail size of 1.6 mm (16ga) and the same 32 to 64 mm length, the GNH 18V-64-2 Professional and the GNH 18V-64-2 M Professional are the tools of choice for tasks such as attaching window and door casings. The GNH 18V-64-2 Professional features single firing, whereas the GNH 18V-64-2 M Professional offers both single and contact firing modes. The GNH 18V-50 M Professional model with its slim, 1.2 mm (18ga) nails with lengths of between 16 and 54 mm leaves barely visible nail holes on the workpiece, making it ideal for furniture-building or fastening baseboards. As the first cordless stapler in the Professional 18V System, the GTH 18V-38 M Professional can handle tricky tasks such as the precision fastening of tongue-and-groove wall and ceiling paneling or upholstery work with ease.

Unique single-handed operation and further benefits

All five tools feature a thumb-actuated power switch, convenient for right and left hand users – eliminating the need for a second free hand. This single-handed operation makes the range unique on the market and allows tradespeople to work continuously without interruption. Another benefit over compressed-air tools is that the countersink depth can be quickly and accurately adjusted using the thumbwheel on the side of the tool and is displayed conveniently in a viewing window. With the contact point clearly visible, nails and staples can be fastened with the utmost precision. Shortly before the magazine is empty, the dry-fire lockout ensures that the workpiece isn’t damaged through blank firing. The tools also feature two bright LEDs to make sure that the workspace is always well illuminated. Users can switch between single firing and contact firing modes on the integrated control panel, which facilitates series applications. The service indicator lets users know when the tool requires maintenance.

The new cordless nail guns and cordless stapler are available starting in May. All prices are recommended retail prices and do not include VAT. Certified nails and additional accessories are available from the Bosch accessory range.
