Bosch is expanding its range of cordless hand-held circular saws as part of the Professional 18V System with the addition of the compact and high-performance GKS 18V-57-2 GX Professional. Combined with the new FSN X Professional cross-cutting guiderail system, the saw is transformed into the first portable miter saw in the Bosch range, perfect for cutting roof battens to length at exactly the right angle directly on the roof ridge, cutting panels and insulation, making miter cuts to baseboards, or chopping down floor coverings to size that have already been laid. Thanks to a wide range of settings and features, the hand-held circular saw is more versatile and convenient than ever and raises the bar in terms of user protection. The Professional 18V System covers all other major 18V applications – and even goes beyond the Bosch range, thanks to multiple partners in the multi-brand AmpShare battery alliance. Many brands. Many tools. One battery system: All tools – from compact screwdriver to hedge cutter – can run on the same 18V lithium-ion battery and charger, thus saving tradespeople time, space, and money.

Precise, quick sawing

The GKS 18V-57-2 GX Professional can be directly connected to FSN X Professional guiderails, which are available in cutting lengths of 300, 440, and 740 mm, and be used to make precision cuts – ideal even for sizing down chipboard or insulation panels that have already been laid. Thanks to the adjustable stops, the sawing angle can be set anywhere between -45° or -60° and +60°. At commonly used angles, the stops lock in place automatically. An integrated return mechanism pulls the hand-held circular saw back to the user automatically after every cut, making repeated sawing simple and effective. The GKS 18V-57-2 GX Professional is also compatible with FSN guiderails from Bosch as well as various rails made by other manufacturers.

Powerful sawing with minimum clearance

Thanks to the powerful brushless motor, the GKS 18V-57-2 GX Professional can saw up to a depth of 57 mm with its 165 mm blade. The cutting depth can be adjusted with a simple thumb movement on the handle, without the need for any tools. With their other hand, users can open the lower protective cover on the saw blade using a lever. When the base cover is open, the GKS 18V-57-2 GX Professional can cut almost flush with the wall. Guide rails on the housing guarantee a standard minimum distance of 22 mm, while the parallel guide ensures clean cuts at larger distances. The no-load speed can be set on the control panel at between 2,500 and 5,000 rpm for optimum sawing of various materials. The Eco mode, which can also be activated on the control panel, enables particularly energy-efficient working. Professional users get the ideal balance of performance, runtime, and weight with ProCore18V batteries with a capacity of 5.5 or 8.0 Ah, such as the new ProCore18V+.

Safer than ever thanks to Stop Control, KickBack Control, and dust extraction

GKS 18V-57-2 GX Professional is the first Bosch hand-held circular saw with Stop Control. This new feature can be activated on the control panel and stops the saw automatically as soon as the blade exits the workpiece. This increases user protection across the board, but particularly with longer cuts when the saw is held further away from the body and therefore with less control. The KickBack Control function, which is always activated, uses an integrated sensor to identify when the saw blade is stuck in the workpiece and switches off the motor within a matter of seconds. This feature prevents unexpected kickback and can also reduce the risk of injury. The GKS 18V-57-2 GX Professional also has an integrated Click & Clean adapter for minimizing dust while working. All conventional extractors, including the new GAS 18V-12 MC Professional M-class cordless dust extractor, can be connected up to the tool.

The GKS 18V-57-2 GX Professional cordless hand-held circular saw and the FSN X Professional cross-cutting guiderail system are available from September. Many different accessories are available as part of the Bosch accessory range. All prices are recommended retail prices and do not include VAT.
