Bosch is expanding its Professional 18V System with the launch of the GDS 18V-450 HC Professional – a powerful cordless impact wrench with connectivity features. This new tool gives professionals full control and flexibility when working with metal and wood. The breakaway torque of 800 Newton meters enables it to loosen even rusty bolts and screws on commercial vehicles such as vans and SUVs. With a tightening torque of 450 Newton meters, the impact wrench is also the first of its kind to be suitable for predrilled concrete screw connections measuring up to eight millimeters. Typical applications include fixing balcony or carport supports directly in concrete, or mounting supports for cable ducts or formwork elements.

Multi-brand battery system saves time, space, and money

The Professional 18V System covers all other major 18V applications – and even goes beyond the Bosch portfolio thanks to the multi-brand AmpShare battery alliance. Many brands, many tools, one battery system: All tools, from compact drill drivers to miter saws with up to 2,000W of equivalent corded power, can be operated with the same 18V lithium-ion battery and just one charger – saving tradespeople time, space, and money.

More control than ever thanks to customizable screwdriving modes

The GDS 18V-450 HC Professional is compact and comfortable to use: The length of the head measures 169 millimeters and the bare tool weighs only 1.6 kilograms. An integrated LED on the tool’s user interface shows professionals the information they need by lighting up in red, yellow, or green to display the battery and tool status. The impact wrench also offers two screwdriving modes that can be further customized via the app. These enable the GDS 18V-450 HC Professional to prevent damage to bolts, screws, and surfaces ‒ making this model stand out from similar impact wrenches on the market.

Mode A is preset for metal bolts and includes features such as ‘Shut-off after time’ and ‘ABR’ (Auto Bolt Release), which are activated when tightening or loosening bolts and nuts in order to avoid overtightening or loss during disassembly. Mode B for wood screws includes features such as ‘Auto Shut-off’ to prevent material from being damaged when tightening screws. Both modes can be customized via the Bosch Toolbox app and saved for subsequent applications. As a result, professionals save time when performing repetitive screwdriving tasks such as assembling facade components, cable ducts, or handrails – and can always select the ideal setting for the respective application.

A wide range from Bosch: The right tool for every job

Bosch offers an extensive portfolio of cordless impact wrenches that can meet various requirements. The 18V range, which includes the GDS 18V-1050 HC Professional, can handle bolt sizes ranging from M6 to M24 and delivers a maximum torque of 200 to 1,050 Newton meters. Also part of the cordless portfolio are the particularly handy and compact 12V tools, such as the GDS 12V-115 Professional.

The GDS 18V-450 HC Professional is available now. Prices represent recommended retail prices and do not include VAT.
