With the GIC 12V-5-27 C Professional and the GIC 12V-4-23 C Professional, Bosch is launching two high-resolution inspection cameras that will make it easier for tradespeople such as installers, electricians, and automotive mechatronics engineers to inspect hard-to-reach areas. They are perfect for quickly viewing inside pipes, drains, or shafts, to trace leaks or blockages without having to break through walls or ceilings, for example. Even extremely hard-to-reach areas like inside the engine compartment when inspecting cars can be reached by the cameras, and the inspection can be documented with images or, if using the GIC 12V-5-27 C Professional, even a video, giving users the relevant evidence conveniently to hand and underscoring the professional handling of the job. Both tools are part of the Professional 12V System, in which the same rechargeable battery can be used for operating different tools, from screwdrivers to hand-held circular saws. This saves tradespeople time, space, and money.

Robust tools with high level of detail accuracy

What sets the inspection cameras apart is their large, high-resolution camera image combined with the tools’ robustness. The GIC 12V-4-23 C Professional has a 4.3-inch display with 800 x 480 pixels, while the GIC 12V-5-27 C Professional has a 5-inch screen with 1280 x 720 pixels. Thanks to their robust construction, high level of protection against dust and splash water as well as ergonomic handle, which is already well established in the thermo cameras range and very popular, users can give their undivided attention to the task at hand. Both inspection cameras are especially robust thanks to the shock-absorbing rubber casing. The display is also slightly set back to further protect it from impacts. The IP54 protection rating guarantees that the tool can be used in areas full of dust or splash water without any issue. The cable and camera together have an IP67 protection rating and are also resistant in saltwater, ethanol, diesel, engine oil, gasoline, and AdBlue® for 30 minutes, making them suitable for automotive inspection.

Simple orientation through the “AutoUp” feature and compass needle

Both inspection cameras make it easy for users to guide the camera cable in the right direction during the inspection. The GIC 12V-5-27 C Professional comes with the “AutoUp” feature. The image automatically rotates upward thereby providing the user with the optimum orientation. The “Up Indication” feature of the GIC 12V-4-23 C Professional displays a small arrow at the bottom left of the screen to show users where “up” is at all times, making it easier for them to interpret the image. This is especially useful when orientation is difficult, such as inside empty water pipes.

Documentation made easy

The condition of the pipes, shafts, laid cables, or the engine compartment can be precisely documented using images taken by the cameras. There is space to store 30 images with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels on the camera. When used with a micro-SD card, the GIC 12V-5-27 C Professional offers extra storage space for images and even for whole inspection videos. Photos and videos can be viewed directly on the camera screen or downloaded onto a PC via the USB-C® cable.

The GIC 12V-5-27 C Professional and GIC 12V-4-23 C Professional inspection cameras will be available from the middle of October. All prices are recommended retail prices and do not include VAT.
