Efficient, flexible and simple riveting: Bosch expands the ‘Professional 18V System’ for trade and industry with a new segment by introducing professionals to the GRG 18V-16 C Professional, the first cordless rivet gun in the portfolio. It covers blind rivets with diameters of 3 to 6.4 mm, thus covering the widest range of applications in its class with a single tool, without needing to change tool components. A constant pulling force of 16,000 N also makes it easy for professionals to create riveted joints quickly and simply even in stainless steel applications. Furthermore, the ‘Professional 18V System’ covers all other significant 18V applications that, thanks to cross-manufacturer compatibility, go even beyond Bosch. Many brands, many tools, one battery system: All tools ‒ from compact drill drivers to miter saws with up to 2,000 W of equivalent corded power ‒ can be operated with the same 18V lithium-ion battery and a single charger. Tradespeople therefore save time, space, and money.

Efficiency and flexibility thanks to Connectivity functions and selectable modes

The GRG 18V-16 C Professional can be used to rivet both thick and thin metal sheets in, for example, ventilation, structural façades, and vehicle construction. There is no need to change tools or replace components. Users need only to select the matching nosepiece. All nosepieces that are not in use, including the nosepiece changing wrench, are stored safely on the tool and always within reach. The Connectivity functions and two selectable modes also contribute to the high efficiency and flexibility of the cordless rivet gun. By pairing the tool with a smartphone via Bluetooth, users can set a reminder in the Bosch Toolbox App, for example, when the jaws need to be cleaned or changed. This way, users can avoid downtime caused by worn-out jaws that can no longer hold and set rivets. The number of riveting cycles can be set to intervals of 500 rivets. On the tool’s user interface, users can select the tool’s operating mode: Auto or Manual. In ‘Manual’ mode, the user can control the riveting procedure individually. In ‘Auto’ mode, briefly pressing the ON/OFF switch is sufficient for automatic riveting. Regardless which mode the user prefers: After every riveting procedure, the rivet mandrels are collected in the mandrel container to prevent them from falling. Blind rivets made of aluminum, steel and stainless steel from all common manufacturers can be used depending on the respective application.

A further advantage of the GRG 18V-16 C Professional is its low weight of only 1.6 kilograms and a short tool head compared to conventional cordless rivet guns on the market. Furthermore, the LED provides good illumination of the work area.
