Sawing, cutting, sanding, and much more – Bosch is expanding its range of cordless multifunction tools for DIYers with the multifaceted UniversalMulti 18V-32. The cordless oscillating multifunction tool is one of the lightest and most compact models in this product category on the market. Not only that, the UniversalMulti 18V-32 is also part of the ‘18V Power for All System.’ The system covers all representative tools in each segment and currently comprises about 70 DIY tools, gardening tools, and home appliances, and even extends beyond the Bosch range with additional partners in the cross-brand ‘Power for All Alliance.’ All tools – from rotary hammer to lawn mower and even vacuum cleaner – can be operated with the same 18V lithium-ion battery and only one charger. This saves users space and money and protects the environment.

Lightweight design with powerful technology for countless applications

The cordless multifunctional tool is ideal for completing a variety of DIY projects. Thanks to the sawing function, cutting through materials such as door frames and laminate flooring is simple – and accurate too, with the included depth stop. Enclosed is a segment saw blade which is ideal for tricky jobs, like making precision cuts to deck lumber when installing recessed decking lights. With the supplied sanding attachment, small areas can also be sanded down smoothly and with ease. The electronic speed pre-selection with six different steps ensures that the multifunctional tool is set up properly to work with any materials.

The UniversalMulti 18V-32 with its 2.5 Ah battery weighs just 1.2 kilograms and turns working overhead – such as flush-cutting a cornice or sanding off an edge – into low fatigue tasks. The multifunctional tool may be lightweight, but DIYers can still draw on an impressive amount of power from the motor. This is thanks to the optimum coordination of all key components, such as the motor and gearbox, combined with an intelligent electronic control system called ‘Syneon Technology.’ Only Bosch offers this interaction between motor electronics and battery.

Accessories for every application

With over 40 attachments available in the ‘Starlock’ range, cutting and sanding are only the beginning. The ‘Starlock’ accessory interface ensures that force is optimally transmitted from the machine to the accessory, thereby guaranteeing higher power, faster progress while working and more precise results. Separately available accessories, including the scraper for removing excess adhesive or the last scraps of wallpaper, can be fitted quickly and with ease. Color markings shows which material a particular accessory is suited to – gray for wood, blue for metal, for instance. All that is required to change attachments is the hex key stored in the tool itself. Thanks to ‘MagnetHold’ technology, the attachment doesn’t even need to be held in place while being fitted to the tool. In case that there are still some raw edges or other areas that need to be sanded down, the segment saw blade can easily be swapped for a triangular sanding blade. An anti-vibration handle, which is available separately, can also be attached to both sides of the tool to make tougher jobs easier to handle.

The UniversalMulti 18V-32 cordless multifunction tool will be available from April 2024. All prices are recommended retail prices including VAT.
