Bosch inaugurated its manufacturing operations at a time when the industrial landscape in Jaipur was in its formative stages. Over the past decades, the facility, certified as a Great Place to Work has produced cutting-edge automotive components particularly in the field of fuel injection systems, bringing in global manufacturing standards and practices. Today, Jaipur is known as Bosch Limited’s key automotive plant in North India owing to its digital initiatives, zero defect and a value-oriented approach.
“Starting with a production capacity of 25 VE pumps (distributor injection pumps commonly used in diesel engines for fuel injection systems) per day in 1999, the Jaipur Plant has evolved into a Lead Plant delivering 1000 pumps per day. This remarkable milestone, achieved over 25 years, highlights the resilience of a young and dynamic workforce. Their commitment to operational excellence has firmly established the organization's reputation.” said Hueseyin Oezmeral, Executive Vice President Manufacturing and Quality, Bosch India, Regional Board of Bosch Mobility in India & General Manager of RBAI.
Innovation at core
Renowned for its expertise in VE pumps and injectors for commercial vehicles, the facility seamlessly integrates advanced technologies such as Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), artificial intelligence, robotic process automation, and 3D printing to enhance productivity and maintain cost competitiveness. Furthermore, by adhering to the - Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Digitalization (SQCD2) principles, the Jaipur plant has exemplified its operational standards driving innovation and contributing to the broader industrial advancement of Jaipur.
Sustainability as a guiding principle
With 40% of its energy needs now met by solar power, including an impressive on-site 2.6 MW solar installation, the Jaipur plant has made significant strides towards sustainability. Its water conversation efforts include a rainwater reservoir with a capacity of 1,200KL, that supports Bosch’s goal to reduce freshwater dependency by 65% by 2026. Additionally, a smart evaporator system has helped the facility decrease Scope 1 emissions by 30%, preventing approximately 58 tons of CO₂ emissions annually.
People -Purpose-Progress
Bosch’s presence in Jaipur extends beyond its industrial contributions. The plant's CSR efforts have significantly impacted surrounding communities by making health, education, and skill development more accessible. From its flagship BRIDGE program that prepares youth for the workplace to the Artisan Training Center providing specialized modules and Pragya Niketan, a smart classroom project for empowering young girls in rural regions, Bosch has continuously endeavored to further education amid the community. Additionally, Bosch Jaipur has installed 33 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants, benefiting around 10 lakh people, and several Mobile Medical Units to enable access to health and clean water.
“The remarkable expedition of 25 years has been possible due to the dedication of our people and partnerships with stakeholders from the ecosystem. With our theme JaP.NXT - Nurture, Excite, and Transform, we envision a future of limitless possibilities, embracing advanced technologies and sustainable practices that reinforce Jaipur’s pivotal role in Bosch’s global network.
