Anderlecht- twenty-eight six grade students from elementary school Ak’Cent from Bever visited Wednesday the 25th of February Robert Bosch N.V. in Anderlecht. The students got the opportunity to discover what technology means for Bosch, this in the context of Technoteens. The purpose of this initiative is to let teens taste a bit of technology in all its aspects.
The children learned that the technology of Bosch is present at a lot of unexpected places. For example in football stadiums with systems for heating, broadcasting and security systems or even automatic opening roofs.
They also visited the Automotive Trainings Centre where mechanics are trained on the latest car technologies and where diesel engines are tested. They also took a look in the assembly and restoration workshop of subsidiary Bosch Rexroth. There they discovered that many bridges and locks are controlled by the hydraulic systems of Bosch Rexroth.
Finally, the teens were allowed to work themselves. Accompanied by Bosch professional trainers they were sawing, drilling, sanding and screwing with power tools from Bosch. The result was a homemade treasure chest.
It was both for the students of Ak’Cent as for Bosch an instructive day.”The Children were very enthusiastic. During the tour they asked a lot of questions, and working with the power tools went very smooth. There were a lot of handy boys and girls. I hope that they have discovered that the technology of Bosch is everywhere and useful in daily life," concludes Peter De Troch, Head of Communications, Bosch Benelux.
